Transforming your wing game with a unique twist – Banana Ketchup Chicken Wings! Sweet, tangy, and oh-so-delicious. Make these your new Wings of Desire for your appetizers.
Everyone craves a little chicken wings every now and then. These chicken wings are glazed with Banana Ketchup. That’s right! Your favorite Filipino ketchup that is seen in every pantry or (fridge) in a Filipino house. I actually updated this to make the chicken wings tastes better. You’ll get the the old recipe and the updated version that’s more tastier below.
Originally, this recipe was created for a Filipino Themed Christmas Party. I handled the appetizers part so oviously, I made these Banana Ketchup Glazed Chicken Wings. I wanted everyone to grab my appetizers first! LOL As months passed by, football season arrives. These chicken wings have been a popular appetizer to make.
THE BREAKDOWN
- A dozen or more chicken wings or drummettes
- Banana Ketchup (Jufran)
- Organic Apple Cider Vinegar
- Liquid Aminos
- Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil or Extra Virgin Olive Oil
HOW TO MAKE BANANA KETCHUP GLAZED CHICKEN WINGS
In a large mixing bowl, mix the marinade and chicken wings. You can place a cling wrap over the bowl and refridgerate overnight or marinate in a plastic gallon bag. When ready to bake the next day, line a sheet pan with parchment paper and place a rack over.
Preheat oven to 400F. Lay the wings on top of the rack. Make sure to discard and dump the overnight marinade to prevent contamination.
Next, prepare your Banana Ketchup Glaze and then glaze them over the wings. Bake in the sauna (oven) for 30 minutes.
After 30 minutes, remove the baking sheet and glaze your chicken wings again. Place it back into the sauna and bake for another 30 minutes. You’ll want to keep an eye on the wings cause the sugar will caramelize and darken the skin.
Also, oven times vary!! I live in a higher elevation and have an electric stove. Once done baking and if you still have glaze left over and prefer a crispier skin, broil them for about 3-5 minutes. (Don’t forget to keep an eye on them chicks!)
These Banana Ketchup Glazed Chicken Wings are looking DELISH!
