GREEN CHILE BREAKFAST TACOS OVERVIEW
Are you craving tacos for breakfast? Well these tacos will satisfy your breakfast palates.
These Green Chile Breakfast Tacos are easty to make in less than 30 minutes. You probably have these ingredients in your pantry or in your fridge. Get ready to bust them out!
I always crave a good breakfast taco with scrambled eggs, fresh onions, and green chile salsas. I’m not a fan of tomato based salsa. I go for the green stuff!
I tend to have meatless meats on deck when I want to have meatfree meals. It’s my preference but you can use any protein you desire for your breakfast needs. Don’t lag and get to this Tootz!
THE BREAKFAST TACOS BREAKDOWN
- MEATLESS MEAT – I used Beyond Meat Burger Patty but any meat protein of your choice is fine.
- CORN TORTILLAS – Gluten free white corn tortillas from Mission Tortillas are my favorite.
- GREEN CHILE SALSA – Using fresh chiles are suggested but I used the store bought green chile salsa version.
- CAGE FREE EGGS – Scramble your eggy the way you want!
- CHOPPED ONIONS AND GARLIC – Adds the fresh flavors.
- GARLIC AND ONION POWDERS – Use these OG’s for the full affect of flavors.
- OIL FOR FRYING
HOW TO MAKE THESE GREEN CHILE BREAKFAST TACOS
STEP 1
In a frying pan over medium heat, drop your oil. Saute onions and garlic for 2-3 mins or until onions are tender. Sprinkle garlic and onion powder to add flavor. Add the meatless patty and crumble it with your spatula.
STEP 2
Cook until the crumbled meat has browned. About 5 minutes. Then add 2 tbsp of green chile and mix. Set aside.
STEP 3
In the same pan, add oil. Fry the egg to your liking. Then set aside.
STEP 4
Heat the tortillas in the microwave with paper towel for 10 seconds or until pliable
STEP 5
Build your breakfast tacos: Grab 2 tacos tortillas and add the meat mixture. Then add the scrambled eggs. Add the green chile sauce. Add the chopped white onions. Green onions or cilantro. Serve with lime or lemon.
DIET TRENDSETTERS SUBSTITUTIONS
VEGAN – If you want to substitute eggs, use an egg replacement like Just Eggs
KETO – They have keto tortillas now or use the low carb tortillas. You can just opt out from the tortillas and use butter lettuce!
PROTEIN – If you’re not feeling the meatless meat, use ground chicken, ground turkey, or lean ground beef.
STORAGE
Store the cooked meat in a seperate container if you want to use for meal prepping. Should last up to 3 days in the fridge.
I suggest cooking the eggs the day of cause it tastes better freshly made than saving it through the week.
If you want to store this in your freezer in an air tight container. It will last for a month.
